Valentine is a Market Analyst at CyberInflight, a market intelligence and consulting firm specializing in space cybersecurity. CyberInflight supports space stakeholders in strengthening their cybersecurity posture by delivering tailored market intelligence solutions, including bespoke consulting engagements, strategic research reports, and cybersecurity awareness training.
In her role, Valentine contributes to the analysis of the cybersecurity market within the space sector by collecting, processing, consolidating, and visualizing market data. She is also actively involved in CyberInflight’s participation in the EU Space ISAC and contributes to consulting missions, particularly risk assessment projects for New Space actors, and helps space stakeholders understand the implications of cybersecurity regulations for the space domain.

Alongside her academic and professional experience, Valentine has completed specialized training programs, including the intensive cybersecurity course organized by the European Space Agency (ESA) Academy at the European Space Security and Education Centre (ESEC), as well as a technical cybersecurity session delivered by HS2. She has also served as a guest lecturer at Toulouse Business School (TBS) in the Aerospace Master of Science (MSc) program.

 

Abstract
From September 2025 to January 2026, CyberInflight conducted an activity, as a sub-contractor, within a mission for ESA called “Cybersecurity MAKERSPACE”. The purpose of the sub-activity conducted by CyberInflight was to analyze the impacts of new cybersecurity frameworks on the SATCOM ecosystem. Overall, the purposes of such activity were to provide EU policymakers the capability to react quickly to emerging cybersecurity trends and challenges in the SATCOM sector, giving a lead to the European industry position in markets where security concerns are becoming a driving market need, as well as to improve the current knowledge and posture of the European ecosystem regarding the cybersecurity frameworks landscape.

This mission is performed in a context where SATCOM has become crucial for several topics, such as military communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), defense and deterrence, economic leverage, digital sovereignty, strategic autonomy, and geopolitical influence. As it grows, the SATCOM ecosystem faces an increasing array of challenges, notably cybersecurity, proliferation and lack of harmonization of standards, and rising geopolitical tensions and dual-use of SATCOM infrastructure, sometimes leading to a grey zone blurring the line between civilian and military on the regulatory matters.

In total, throughout the mission, 194 cybersecurity frameworks were identified by CyberInflight coming from 72 different policymakers worldwide, enabling the identification of the main strengths, ongoing efforts by policymakers, and challenges regarding the most SATCOM-operational frameworks in today’s landscape. It also allowed to identify main takeaways and recommendations for policymakers when it comes to implementing and maintaining cybersecurity frameworks over time.
A part of this mission will be made public by ESA to provide insights to the entire EU space ecosystem.

We were thinking of giving a presentation on the main takeaways and recommendations identified throughout the mission, as the deliverables and outputs can be used widely by the European space ecosystem. For example, a database containing the 48 most-SATCOM operational and relevant cybersecurity frameworks (including European, American, international, and Russian, Chinese, South Korean, and Australian frameworks, to mention only a few) can be made available, in the future, to the European ecosystem. A presentation on the topic would therefore be a good way to disseminate the main insights and takeaways observed, benefiting the whole European ecosystem.
